A Day in the Life of Dieting...

 
My Name
My name is Jessica, but only my mother is aloud to call me that. You can call me Jessi. I'm 23 years old, mother of a happy-go-lucky two year old little girl, named Amelie, and a wife of a wonderful and handsome man named Bo.
My Blog
This is my diet blog. I've tried others before and have failed. I have to keep track of what I have eaten and this is my way of doing it. Feel free to comment and make suggestions.
My Goal
My long term goal is to lose 150 pounds. Yes, I am aware that is a lot, but I have to lose a lot too. I have had many problems due to being overweight including: PCOS, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, migraines, depression, anxiety, fatigue, and a few others left to name.
My Life
I was born and raised in Panama City, FL. I've been here all my life. I graduated from A. Crawford Mosley High School in 2003. I got married May 21, 2005 and had my first child November 26, 2005. Today, I am a stay at home mother and an army wife, trying to get by day to day as normal as possible. Which, if you know me, you know how hard that can be! I love my family, my friends, and my life. There are just a few changed I want to make to it, starting with my weight.
My Future, My Dreams.
I grew up in ballet class. I loved it so much. Then, there came a time in middle school that I had to give up the thing I loved to make the grade. I quit ballet and from there on, my life became harder. I gained weight, a lot of weight. Now, a high school graduate of five years, my dream is to lose that weight and get back into ballet and continue my dreams. I've always wanted to be a prima ballerina, but even if I cannot achieve that dream, I want ballet to be involved in my future.

Day 25

Ate:
1 piece of whole wheat toast
1 egg
3oz pork chop
salad with meatballs, lettuce, and mozzarella cheese with 10 1 calorie spray dressing
Tortilla chips in chili cheese sauce
4 turkey and cream cheese wraps
2 chocolate chip cookies

Drank:
2 cups of diet coke
Lots of water

Exercise:
N/A

N/A

Well, yesterday was Jasmine's BBP, so I did splurge a little at the party. I didn't eat as much as I wanted *pats self on back* but I did eat some pretty unhealthy things. I will just work a little harder this week.

20 pounds



Day 24

Ate:
3 pieces of whole wheat toast (2 with light margarine)
3 eggs
1 slice of cheese
90 calorie bar (chocolate chip)
3 slices of turkey bacon

Drank:
1 cup skim milk
Lots of water

Exercise:
30 mins ab class
1 hr pilates
Heavy house work

Other:
N/A

Okay, so I did really good this day. But this morning I got on the scale and it said I had lost 5 more pounds. Now, I don't know what I did, but I weigh myself at the same time every morning in the same spot, the same way. I have a digital scale, so what happened? I mean, I am happy, but I'm confused. Any advice??

Day 22

Ate:
1 piece of whole wheat toast
1 egg
1 chicken sandwich (from Burger King)
sandwich with egg and cheese
1/2 cup garbanzo beans

Drank:
Smoothie with 1/2 cup of skim milk, 1/2 cup of yogurt, 1 cup of strawberries
2 cups juicy juice
1 cup skim milk with chocolate whey protein powder
1 small diet coke
Lots of water

Exercise:
1.4 miles on stationary bike
45 mins Mommy and Me Ballet Class


Other:

Day 23

Ate:
1 taco salad (lettuce, tomatoes, grilled chicken, guacamole, sour cream, 1/2 pack of ranch dressing)
Turkey and cheese sandwich on whole wheat bun

Drank:
1 small diet coke
Lots of water

Exercise:
3 set of 20 of inner thigh workout
3 set of 20 of outer thigh workout
3 set of 20 of glutes workout
3 set of 20 of inner calf workout
3 set of 20 of outer calf workout
3 set of 20 of ab workout
3 set of 20 of lower back workout
3 set of 20 of side ab workout
40 crunches (20 with 2lb medicine ball)
30 mins Jazzerball class


I think I did good. Should have not eaten the shell on the taco salad, but I didn't eat much that day. Saw my dietitian again yesterday. She gave me some vitamin B pills I have to take ever 2 hours. She also said I need to up my protein and my calories still...lay off high fat things. She also gave me some vanilla protein powder which tastes bad. I'm going to have to figure out a better way to add it to something. I also have a little bit of chocolate whey protein powder. It's alright in milk. So, this is my goal for the next week. By the way, I lost another pound!! Yay!!

Day 21

Ate:
1 Activia fat free yogurt (strawberry)
1 sandwich on whole wheat bread (Health Nut), fat free turkey, and colby cheese
1 chicken pot pie

Drank:
1 bottle Kellogg's Protein Water (berry)
2 cups of OJ
Lots of water

Exercise:
12 mins on the treadmill
1.5 miles on the stationary bike
3 set of 15 of upper arm workout
3 set of 15 of lower arm workout
3 set of 15 of chest workout
3 set of 15 shoulder workout
1 hr pilates
1 mile on stationary bike

Other:
10 mins in tanning bed (shorter time due to new bulbs)
10 mins in sauna

I think I did good this day. I also saw the dietitian and she put me on certain foods. Apparently, I wasn't eating enough calories. She didn't want my body go into starvation mode. It's alright though, we are experimenting for a week to see how it goes.

Day 20

Ate:
2 cups of smoothie (1/2 a banana, 1/4 cup tart cherries, 1/2 cup of low fat vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup of OJ, 1/2 cup pineapple)
1/2 cup of oat meal
6 slices of turkey bacon
2 slices of whole wheat toast (Health Nut), w/light margarine
2 eggs

Drank:
4 cups of OJ
1 bottle of cola Celsius
Lots of water

Exercise:
3 set of 20 of inner thigh workout
3 set of 20 of outer thigh workout
3 set of 20 of glutes workout
3 set of 20 of inner calf workout
3 set of 20 of outer calf workout

Other:
10 mins in tanning bed (shorter time due to new bulbs)
1 hr heavy house work

So I did better than the day before. I shouldn't of had so many slices of turkey bacon, I start out with 3, but Amelie didn't like it...so...well, I ate it. Anyway, I start seeing a nutritionist today. Wish me luck!!

Day 19 - I've Been Bad

Day 19

Ate:
1 Activia fat free yogurt (strawberry)
1 side salad with ranch dressing (from Charley's)
2 chicken breasts (from Charley's)
1/2 cup of broccoli and cheese (from Charley's)
10 corn chips with spinach and artichoke dip (from Charley's)
1 chicken breast sandwich (from McDonald's)
5 french fries (from McDonald's)
1 pancake (from Flap Jacks)
3 slices of bacon (from Flap Jacks)
1 egg (from Flap Jacks)

Drank:
2 cups of Light lemonade
2 cups of OJ
1 bottle of cola Celsius
Lots of water

Exercise:
1 hr 30 mins of Total Body Fusion

Other:
N/A

So I know I said I would be good yesterday. I couldn't help it. I did eat healthier than I could have...it was so hard. I'm going to be home for the next couple of days (besides the gym) and I am going to eat better. I promise. Gosh, I really hate myself. I think I gained a pound. *cries*
